Bombardier goes from strength to strength in Denmark

Inauguration of new Copenhagen site for Rail Control Solutions Division

Copenhagen, May 28, 2010 – Bombardier has celebrated the opening of a new office for its Rail Control Solutions signalling Division in Copenhagen, confirming its ongoing commitment to support the future modernisation programme in Denmark. The new site was formally  inaugurated on 28th May in the presence of Bombardier employees and management representatives.

The new site provides an additional, state-of-the-art environment for the Bombardier team working on the latest technology and projects for the Danish market, including the computer - based interlocking (CBI) upgrade work to the latest generation BOMBARDIER* EBI* Lock 950 Release 4 (R4) technology. The existing site at Hvidovre will now focus on manufacturing. As well as a high level of project management and technical expertise, the team also provides customer after sales and maintenance support, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bombardier has a unique appreciation of the signalling requirements of the Danish Railways with approximately 275 employees, divided between the Divisions Rail Control Solutions in Copenhagen and Services in Randers. Bombardier's portfolio includes supply of 101 (plus 21 on order) BOMBARDIER CONTESSA trains and its INTERFLO 250 rail control solution for the 15km Oresund link. In addition, Bombardier installed the latest generation EBI Lock 950 at Maribo Station, the first of its kind in Denmark. The Randers sites focuses on the renovation and modernisation of train material, carrying out fleet maintenance, repairing broken down trains, selling and delivering spare parts and developing and mounting traction modules for diesel trains.

Bombardier Transportation's Rail Control Solutions (RCS) portfolio covers the whole range of BOMBARDIER CITYFLO mass transit solutions, from manual to fully automatic systems as well as communication-based systems. It also provides BOMBARDIER INTERFLO mainline solutions, from conventional systems to ERTMS level 2 systems. Bombardier solutions encompass a complete palette of wayside and onboard products.
